Linkedin (lead gen form)
1. Who we are
Tru South Consulting (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides consulting services in strategy, inclusion and workplace education. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information when you submit information to us via LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms (or otherwise contact us), and your rights in respect of that information.
Contact for privacy matters: Email: privacy@trusouthconsulting.au
2. Why this policy mentions LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms
We use LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms to collect leads and enquiries submitted through LinkedIn advertising campaigns. LinkedIn’s Lead Gen Forms can auto-populate a user’s form with information from their LinkedIn profile (for example: name, email, job title, company and location). When you submit a Lead Gen Form you will be shown or given access to this Privacy Policy URL.
3. What personal information we collect via LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms
When you submit a LinkedIn Lead Gen Form to Tru South Consulting we may collect some or all of the following information (depending on the form fields you complete):
Full name
Work email address and/or personal email (if provided)
Phone number (if provided)
Job title, company name and company size
Location (city / region / country)
Any answers to custom questions you complete on the form (e.g., services of interest, message)
Hidden/technical fields (e.g., campaign id, ad id, form id) that help us track which ad or campaign generated the lead
We also receive the lead data from LinkedIn into our CRM or email system, and may keep metadata about the submission (date/time, IP/addressing metadata provided by LinkedIn).
4. How we use your personal information
We will only use the personal information we collect for purposes including:
Responding to your enquiry / following up on your request.
Providing, promoting and delivering our consulting services and related communications.
Sending marketing and event communications (only where you have consented or where allowed under applicable law and you have not opted out).
Managing and improving our LinkedIn advertising, campaign measurement, analytics and CRM records.
Meeting legal, regulatory or contractual requirements.
5. Legal basis / authority for processing
Australia (Privacy Act / APPs): We collect personal information where it is reasonably necessary for our business functions (e.g., to respond to an enquiry or provide services). Where we use information for direct marketing, we will rely on the collection being reasonable and/or on your consent, and always provide an opt-out.
EU / UK individuals: If you are in the EU/UK/EAA, we will process personal data on the lawful bases required under GDPR (for example: consent where required, performance of contract, legitimate interests for certain direct marketing/CRM activities unless overridden by your rights). You have GDPR rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection etc.).
6. Sharing and disclosure of information
We may disclose your personal information to:
LinkedIn / Microsoft (as the platform providing the Lead Gen Form and ad delivery).
Service providers who provide CRM, email marketing, analytics, ad-tech, IT hosting, data hosting, or other operational services to us.
Professional advisors (e.g., legal, accounting) where necessary.
Law enforcement or regulators where required by law.
Because LinkedIn and many of our service providers host data and operate internationally, your information may be transferred to and stored in countries outside Australia (for example the United States or EU). We are responsible for taking reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients do not handle personal information inconsistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
7. Cookies, tracking & advertising pixels (including LinkedIn tags)
We may use cookies, pixels, and similar tracking on our website and in connection with LinkedIn campaigns (for example the LinkedIn Insight tag) for analytics, ad measurement and re-targeting. If we use tracking pixels or similar technologies to target or profile individuals for direct marketing, we will comply with the direct marketing rules and provide a way to opt out.
8. Direct marketing and your choices (opt-out)
If you have provided personal information via a LinkedIn Lead Gen Form you may receive marketing communications from us (subject to applicable law). Where required by law, we will:
Only send marketing that would be reasonably expected, or for which you have given consent.
Include a clear and simple means to opt-out of future marketing in each marketing message.
Give effect to any opt-out request within a reasonable time and at no charge.
To stop marketing from us immediately, email privacy@trusouthconsulting.au or click the “unsubscribe” link in our emails.
9. How long we keep personal information (retention)
We will retain personal information that we obtain via LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, and thereafter for a reasonable period to allow for future business relationship development, unless you request deletion sooner. A typical retention period for marketing leads is 24 months from the date of collection unless otherwise required.
10. Your rights (access, correction, deletion, objections)
You may, subject to applicable law, request that we:
Provide access to personal information we hold about you.
Correct or update the information.
Delete or restrict processing of your personal information.
Object to or withdraw consent for specific purposes (for example direct marketing).
Request portability of the information you provided, where technically feasible.
To exercise these rights, contact privacy@trusouthconsulting.au. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
11. Security of your information
We use reasonable organisational, technical and administrative measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
13. Contact & complaints
